See Five Common Natural Hair Mistakes You Never Know

Having naturally curly hair is a blessing, beautiful and easy to manage.

It can be overwhelming, and time consuming. As a woman you are expected to nurture it and take care of it, so that it will continue to grow long and healthy.

Naturally curly hair are very attractive and when it comes to taking care of it,  people often use methods that hurt more than help.

Below are Five very common natural hair mistakes.

Constantly Wearing Protective Styles

Protective styles are meant to protect your hair, but too much of it is very bad.

It’s ok to take a break from the braids, twists, and sew-ins. Let your hair breathe!

Using Too Much Hair Product

When you have too much hair product, the style may not turn out the way you hoped it would.

Using too much product can weigh your hair down, it can also cause product buildup.

Not Shampooing Enough

I know cowashing is the new “it” thing in the natural hair community, but you should use a sulfate free shampoo to cleanse your scalp every now and then.

Not only will it help with product build up, but your hair will smell better. If you have longer, thicker hair, you probably need more product to moisturize and style your hair.

Over Manipulating

Constantly combing, pulling, and touching your hair period can cause friction/breakage. Find a style that can last a few days, and leave your hair alone.

Not Trimming Enough

While having long hair is goals to most, healthy hair should be the goal. Hanging on to dead, dry, and damaged ends won’t help in your hair journey.

Make a habit of trimming your ends every 8-12 weeks. That way you aren’t holding on to those ends, but you’re not trimming unnecessarily either.
