In a statement on Tuesday, Flutterwave’s Head, Branding and Storytelling, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, said the new partnership allows African businesses and people living in the continent to receive payments from Paypal users globally through Flutterwave.
"It is going to change everything, it is going to make African businesses into global businesses," she added.
The company explained that Flutterwave’s integration with PayPal is live and operational across 50 African countries and worldwide, adding that Flutterwave’s merchants in Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritius, Malawi, Mozambique and Senegal are also able to easily accept payments from PayPal users worldwide.
The company was founded by Nigerian-born Silicon Valley enthusiast, Olugbenga Agboola, launched in 2016 as GB, Flutterwave, with its operational head office in Lagos and its corporate headquarters in San Francisco.
