Abia Poly Management shut School for seven days


The management of Abia State Polytechnic has decided to close the school for seven days due to a protest by the students on Thursday.

In a Statement by the school rector O.K. Osonwa, "Due to security issues on campus arising from the conflicts between students, the RRS and Police, the Management has directed that the students should proceed on a one-week temporary break immediately from 24 of September, 2021. This will enable proper investigations to be carried out and concluded."

Recall that Abia State Polytechnic students protested for justice for their student's alleged rape by policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Aba.

Meanwhile, the State Governor's wife, Nkechi Ikpeazu, visited the victim, assuring her that her foundation, Vicar Hope, would cover her medical expenses and ensure that justice was served in the case, read here
