Content is no longer king; it is now the kingdom

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐦!

The easiest and fastest means of selling anything to anyone is to have adequate knowledge of that "thing".

It could be a product, a service, or even a story. People will buy from you if you have enough content.

You wonder why people tune into sports news to listen to sports analyst chatter for more than an hour and never get bored. They have the content and, most of the time, the unique way of saying it. In that particular order.

Lecturers tell students to define a term and go further to give them an F because they gave them a one-word definition. While the person that defines, explains, illustrates, and differentiates gets an A.

A preacher stands to preach for an hour or more about the simplest Bible verse and you stand in awe.

Then go home to wonder how John 3:16 is connected to almost all the scriptures in the Bible, because you simply couldn't decipher how he extracted "that he gave" from the entire verse and made it a sermon for weeks. It's mind-blowing, isn’t it? CONTENT

People hold seminars and speak on topics you’ve known your entire existence, and it feels as fresh as the morning dew. Almost as though it is a new theory that just got to see the light of day.

𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒆: None of these people invented or re-invented these things, they just found a way to make us understand.

To be candid, they found different ways but chose to deploy one of them, because they could.

Content isn’t to reinvent the wheel. It is knowing enough to share your unique perspective on why the wheel is important.

Going on a date and the only thing you know to talk about is how beautiful the hair on your head looks, and how he didn't line his beards like the ones on Instagram, while he/she wants to understand how Nigeria will borrow millions of dollars for rails and crude oil. One dollar is approaching a thousand by the day, and you have no idea what they're talking about.

However, content isn’t about the Nigerian government and what they would rather do with the brains in their head. But the idea is to be able to hold your own.

Good content is not necessarily storytelling. It is telling your story well.

And everyone has a story to tell. Every business person needs to understand the need to pursue content.

These days, people want to learn before they buy, so you need to be educated instead of pitched.

There is an instant need for content marketing. It doesn't need to feel like marketing.

People will buy from you when they see you as a consultant or friend genuinely interested in their wellbeing. Not because you want to sell.

Traditional marketing gets the prospect's attention, but content marketing keeps and transcends them from prospects to clients.

It is telling the world that you are a rock star. While content marketing shows that you are one.

Content builds relationships. Relationships are built on trust. Trust drives revenue. Content is no longer king, my people. 𝑰𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒅𝒐𝒎.

The three major keys to content marketing are:

Simple

Compelling

Concise

While deploying these arsenals, try not to sound desperate. Nothing kills opportunities faster than desperation.

They are not doing you a favor. You are providing sustainable solutions to their problems and getting money for it in return.

No matter how many people say no, there are a thousand and one people that would grant you that sale. But first and foremost, GET CONTENT!

People want to buy from someone who has ADEQUATE knowledge.
