FEC approves 14-day paternity leave for male civil servants

0
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved male Federal civil servants' right to 14 days of paternity leave to bond with their infants.

This was revealed to State House Correspondents on Wednesday by the Federation's Head of Service, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, following the week's virtual FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, presided over by Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).

She explained that this is to allow for proper bonding between a father and a newborn child, whether natural-born or adopted, particularly during the early stages of the child's life.

Mrs. Yemi-Esan went on to say that fathers of adopted babies who are less than four months old will appreciate this gesture as well.
