With the arrest of a bandit kingpin who confessed to having lost count of the number of people he has killed or kidnapped, the Katsina Police Command has made another breakthrough.

Surajo Mamman, also known as "Kutaku," said he is the second-in-command of the group.

Sani Muhidinge, a notorious bandit on the government's wanted list, is hiding out in the Rugu forest between Katsina and Zamfara states.

SP. Isah Gambo, the state's Police Public Relations Officer, paraded the notorious bandit and others in front of the media on Wednesday at the state police headquarters.

"For a long time, I've been involved in kidnapping and other banditry-related crimes. I don't know how many people I've killed or kidnapped, but it's a large number.

"Actually, until I was arrested, I didn't see anything wrong with my involvement in the act." But now my eyes have been opened."

He also admitted to being involved in numerous attacks, kidnappings, and cattle rustling in the state's Dan Musa, Safana, Dutsinma, and Batsari LGAs.
