Just In: Lagos Assembly Passes VAT, Open Grazing Bills

The Value Added Tax Bill was passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday, with Speaker Mudashiru Obasa instructing the Acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, to send a clean copy to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for assent.

The bill prohibiting open cattle grazing in the state was also passed by the House.

The two bills were passed after unanimous votes from legislators during the third reading of the bills.

Speaker Obasa immediately praised his colleagues for their commitment to ensuring that the state's growth continues.

Obasa said, "I thank you all for this historic exercise." On Wednesday, the House held separate public hearings on the bills, with stakeholders expressing their support.
