A 300L UNizik student murdered in cold blood at Nnewi, Anambra state

Chioma, a 300L medical rehabilitation student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University's Nnewi campus, was murdered in cold blood by unknown gunmen in the Nnewi area near the university's teaching hospital. (NAUTH).

According to a witness at the scene, Chioma was mending her shoes with a friend when gunshots were heard, prompting her to flee to a nearby shop for safety.

After firing indiscriminately into the shop through the student's glasses, Chioma and the student badgered the unidentified gunmen, asking, "Where's that hausa man?"

In their terrified state, the girls responded that they knew nothing about the hausa man. The unknown gunmen dashed out as soon as they heard this, but Chioma was already lifeless on the floor in a pool of blood.

Another eye witness, who spoke through tears, said that the fierce-looking, huge men's attention was drawn to them by Chioma's phone when she was trying to record the incident because everything was tense at the time.

"Chioma was an intelligent student who had performed extremely well academically, jovial to be with, and a strong lover of sports, especially football," she said of one of her friends.
