Abaribe should be imprisoned for his support of someone bent on dismembering Nigeria — Adesina

Enyinnaya Abaribe, Nigeria's Senate Minority Leader, has been speaking out about the country's mismanagement while using derogatory language toward those in power.

Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari's aide, made a veiled reference to the Senator, saying he should be "cooling his feet in prison" after standing surety for someone bent on dismembering Nigeria.

Before Nnamdi Kanu was granted bail in 2017, the Senator and two others stood as sureties for the detained Indigenous People of Biafra leader.

The detained IPOB leader is facing terrorism-related charges before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja, and the case has been rescheduled for October 21, 2021.

The Presidential aide also stated that the Federal Government must have biceps and be strong in order to avoid being duped or becoming "a king sitting on an empty throne."

He also stated that, in addition to IPOB and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, there are more than 30 separatist organizations in the country's South-East.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and his colleagues in the red chamber had chastised Abaribe for speaking to the media.
