Counter-secessionist groups may rise in South-East if IPOB doesn’t stop killings ~ Governor Umahi

Dave Umahi, the Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of the South-East Governors' Forum, has warned that if the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra does not call its members to order and stop the threats and killings, counter-secessionist groups may rise in the South-East geopolitical zone.

The South-East elite, according to Umahi, do not want secession but want the zone to be treated equally to other parts of the country.

The governor also promised that secessionist agitators would not turn the South-East zone into a killing field.

Youths in the region who chose the path of agitation to cause criminality over dialogue to have their grievances heard and resolved would be "isolated as criminals," he said.

Umahi was a guest on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily'breakfast program on Wednesday, which the reporter was watching.
