The 79-year-old walked into a police station in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa's eastern city, where he is on trial for corruption, to file charges against a chief state prosecutor.
As he walked past the people queuing outside the building, he was accompanied by one of his daughters and waved to them.
On the street, a small crowd of supporters sang and danced in Zuma-print t-shirts.
