In Beninise prison, Sunday Igboho was diagnosed with a likely kidney problem, according to a lawyer.
Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation agitator, has been diagnosed with kidney or lung disease. Yomi Aliyyu, one of his lawyers, revealed this in an interview with BBC Yoruba.
According to him, the rights activist contracted the illness while imprisoned in the Benin Republic.
The home of Soka in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, was raided by DSS agents around 1:30 a.m. on July 1, 2021, resulting in the arrest of 12 of his aides. He escaped arrest but was later apprehended in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
According to an Ilana Omo Oodua spokesperson, the government should be warned that "nothing must happen" to Igboho. "He is ill, and his kidney appears to be affected."
He listed the items as N2 million in cash, a thousand Euros, travel documents, including international passports belonging to him and his family members, gold jewelry and wristwatches, two mobile phones, and other items that are still unknown but were allegedly carted away by the SSS.
The court imposed a N20 billion fine on DSS for the "illegal" invasion of Igboo's home in Ibadan on July 1.
