Gov Ugwuanyi appoints Whitemoney, Enugu creative arts ambassador

Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor of Enugu State, named reality TV personality Whitemoney as the state's creative arts ambassador on Friday.

"Gov Ugwuanyi welcomes Whitemoney, confers on him the title of 'Ambassador of Enugu State in Creative Arts,'" according to a statement released on Friday.

At the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Enugu on Friday, the Governor hosted the winner of the Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye season, Hazel Oyeze, also known as Whitemoney.

Whitemoney's humility, godliness, and "consistency with the Enugu ethos," according to Ugwuanyi, endeared him to his other housemates and the viewing public.

"I, therefore, urge on the teeming Enugu youngsters to employ their innovative abilities and skills to win more accolades for the state," Ugwuanyi said as he bestowed the ambassadorial title on Whitemoney.

"We are really proud of you and wish you many more triumphs," the Governor stated, adding that Whitemoney was "very deserving" of the position.

Whitemoney thanked Ugwuanyi for the honor and warm welcome, saying that God's goodness has abundantly located him.

"Thank you so much, Your Excellency; Daddy, I am grateful," Whitemoney said. "I promise to serve this state with all my heart; with my best capacity to do what is right for Enugu youth empowerment and community growth at large."

Whitemoney was taken to the State House by former BBNaija housemates Niyi Lawala and Emmanuel Umoh.

The ceremony was attended by Cecilia Ezeilo, the Deputy Governor of Enugu State; Simon Ortuanya, the Secretary to the State Government and Director General of the South East Governors' Forum; Festus Uzor, the Governor's Chief of Staff; and other members of the State Executive Council.
