Na bank wey Davido dey use we go dey use now - Wema Bank

Davido, the multi-award-winning popstar, has been trending on Nigerian social media for hours after asking his friends and admirers to donate N1 million each to him for his birthday.

"We rise by lifting others abi?" Davido said. For the past 100 years, I have not been rising or lifting others. As a result, I'd like to know who my buddies are. 

"Every one of my pals has a million Naira. We're 30BG, they said. If you don't send your own, you'll be charged. You're not welcome here. "You've left."

After requesting colleagues for N1 million, he received nearly N53 million in cash payments in less than an hour. So far, the pop artist has received almost N200 million.

Nigerian businessman Obi Cubana and Femi Otedola are among his backers. The musician, on the other hand, did not reveal the amount provided to him by Femi Otedola, Obi Cubana, E-Money, Patoranking, and others.

Kolaq Alagbo, Munch It, and TravelBeta were among the companies who gave to Davido.

Ikorodu Bois, a group of kid comedians, gave N5000 to the artist, while Baba Ali sent N1.5 million. MC Galaxy, a musician and vocalist, sent N3 million, and Oba Elegushi, a businessman, sent N5 million.

The musician also announced on his verified Twitter account that the bank with which he registered the fundraising account, Wema Bank, wanted to meet with him.

"Wema want to have a meeting," Davido tweeted.

However, as the fundraiser became more heated, the bank capitalized on the trend by posting an online message that read, "Na bank wey Davido dey use, we go dey use today."

Furthermore, the musician tweeted that he was moved by the outpouring of kindness. "I'm truly crying!!" he wrote. Just be nice to other people, guy!!!! Thank you, God! "I adore you guys, man."
