Obi Cubana’s club speaks on the death of a customer, saying "she tripped and fell"

Hustle & Bustle, a nightclub owned by Obi Iyiegbu, a prominent Nigerian businessman and socialite known as Obi Cubana, has spoken out about the murder of a female client on their premises on November 14, 2021.

In a statement signed by the club's management and put on its Instagram account, the club stated that the young lady's death was not caused by electrocution in the club, but rather by 'tripping and falling.' The club has been closed following the horrific tragedy.

Furthermore, Hustle and Bustle's management stated that they had kept quiet about the matter for two reasons: they were mourning with the deceased's family and awaiting the outcome of the police inquiry.

The statement read, "We wish to thank our esteemed patrons and customers for their love and support these last couple of days. Indeed, the loss of a customer is a blow that hit us harder than we could have imagined, particularly because of the unexpected nature of her demise.

"We want to extend our heartfelt sympathy once more to the family of the deceased; we pray that the almighty God will continue to grant them the fortitude to bear this painful loss.

"Despite the myriad of question and assumptions out in the public, we had earnestly refrained from making any statement until this moment for two reasons; mainly because we had to join the family and friends to mourn a beautiful life that was taken too soon, and to enable the police to extensively conduct and carry out their investigations.

"It, therefore, behoves on us at this moment to inform the general public of these series of facts. On the 14th of November 2021, a dear customer whilst leaving our premises tripped and fell and this led to her painful and untimely death.

"Owing to this tragedy, our management reached a decision to shut down our business so as to adequately mourn the deceased, and also allow the police unfettered access to conduct their investigations."

The female clubber was playing with her pals when she stumbled and collapsed a few meters from the car park, according to the club. On the route to the hospital, however, she passed out and died.

They also stated that the Nigerian police conducted a thorough inspection and review of their closed-circuit television system.

"On that fateful morning, the deceased was cheerfully fooling about with her companions after leaving the club when she made a small run, tripped and fell down a few meters to the car park, where she passed out." Unfortunately, she died on the way to the hospital.

"The Nigerian Police Force has completed its investigation and thoroughly studied our substantial and lengthy CCTV material, and we are awaiting their findings.

"We promise the public that various health and safety measures have been implemented, and we will continue to prioritize safety over profit.

"We've also utilized this painful lesson to improve our already good safety practices, and we'll do everything we can to maintain our position as a leader in this field. "May God bless the departed's soul," the message said.
