On Thursday, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja adjourned the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested leader of the proscribed Indegenious People of Biafra (IPOB), until January 18, 2022.
Kanu's case was originally slated to be heard next year, (read here) but after a motion was submitted by the Nigerian separatist leader, the court allowed an abridgement of time.
Kanu's trial was extended by Justice Nyako on November 10, 2021, until January 19 and 20, 2022.
However, after a motion was filed in that regard, the court allowed an abridgement of time, and his case was heard today (Thursday). Kanu was not in the courtroom.
