According to PEOPLE, an American mother gave birth to twins who were born just minutes apart in 2021 and 2022.
According to the site, the babies of Fatima Madrigal and Robert Trujillo were born at Navidad Medical Center in Salinas, California. The couple's daughter arrived 15 minutes after the couple's son.
On Saturday, the hospital tweeted, "Natividad welcomed Aylin Yolanda Trujillo as the area's first baby of 2022!" "Her twin, Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, was born 15 minutes earlier on Friday, Dec. 31, at 11:45 p.m., meaning their birthdays are on separate days, months, and years— a one in two million chance!"
"I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight." A doctor who works at the hospital, Dr. Ana Abril Arias, called it "one of the most memorable deliveries of my career," the outlet reported.
"It was an absolute pleasure to help these little ones arrive here safely in 2021 and 2022," Arias said in the release.
"What an amazing way to start the New Year!" The two babies will return home with their mother and father Robert Trujillo to meet three older siblings.
