Manchester United confirm that Executive Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward will leave the club at the end of January.
This comes on the heels of the club announcing the appointment of Richard Arnold, a former Group Managing Director, as Chief Executive Officer, beginning February 1, 2022.
"I am honoured to have the chance to serve this wonderful club and its fans," Arnold said upon his hiring, according to United's website. I'm resolved to repay your kindness in whatever way I can."
"I would like to thank Ed for his relentless work on behalf of Manchester United over his nine years as Executive Vice-Chairman and 16 years with the club," stated Joel Glazer, Executive Co-Chairman.
"We now look forward to Richard and his leadership team ushering in a new era in the club's history, with ambitious plans for investment in Old Trafford, the deepening of our fan interaction, and the continuous pursuit of our most important goal – winning on the pitch," says the statement.
