Terhemen Anongo, a 44-year-old Gboko resident, has had his two testicles removed "to avert sexual desire."
Anongo, a medical school dropout, claims that his decision will allow him to better serve God. He removed one of the testicles by himself last year, nearly losing his life in the process.
In March, he made headlines after undergoing the operation himself, which resulted in extensive bleeding.
Anongo, who dropped out of the University of Ibadan medical school due to purported health issues, claimed the castration was based on his religious belief that he needed to serve God diligently because he was not married.
According to The Tribune, the medical student, who is now turning a wheel barrow pusher, said over the phone with newsmen in Makurdi on Sunday, "I went to remove the second testicle based on religious belief."
On Monday, I took it down. The first one had a few kinks, but this time, having learned from my mistakes, I was able to (remove) it flawlessly. It's always someone coming to dress it for me.
I'm perfectly fine. There's no problem; all I have to do now is wait for the incision to heal so I can remove the stitches."
