Over 189 afternoon church scholarship recipients who were detained by Nigeria immigration services (NIS) on the Lagos border for three days cried out for their innocence after the service claimed they were human traffickers.

According to a post on Tuesday by NIGERIAN TRIBUNE, the service claimed that it has intercepted over 189 boys and girls who are suspected to be victims of human trafficking in Seme area of Lagos State.

The post reads, "In a statement signed by the Service Spokesman, Amos Okpu, the Service said the arrested youths consist of 115 girls and 74 boys."

According to the statement, "The acting Comptroller General of Immigration, Isah Jere Idris, has announced the interception of 189 boys and girls suspected to be victims of human trafficking by the Lagos Border Patrol Command at Seme.

"Speaking at the Zone ‘A’ Headquarters of the Service in Lagos, the acting Comptroller General said that the youths made up of 115 Girls and 74 Boys aged between 15 to 20 years were intercepted in batches on their way out of the country through the Seme Border Area," read full here.

But according to a video monitored by SB, they recipients are not human Traffickers but scholarship beneficiaris by one Afternoon Church in Aba lead by Pastor Akachi.

According to a Source, we have been detained since three days now by the so called NIS authority.
