The National Identity Management Commission has announced that the service portal for verifying National Identification Numbers has been fully restored.
Kayode Adegoke, the NIMC's head of corporate communications, announced this in a statement on Saturday.
The statement read, "The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is pleased to announce that the National Identification Number (NIN) Verification Service (NVS) portal, which went down a few days ago due to maintenance by one of the Commission’s network service providers, has been fully restored."
Telecommunication firms, banks, and government institutions like as the Nigerian Immigration Service, which rely on the service to verify the NIN of its clients before attending to them, were all affected by the portal outage.
