Update: ABSU student victim in Ahia-Udele fatal accident


Emma, a mechanical engineering student of Abia state University (ABSU) was one of the victim in today's accident at Waterside Ogborhill Aba.

On Thursday morning, Strenuousblog reported that a 40-foot truck crushes traders and customers in the Ahia-udele market (water-side), Ogbor-hill, in Aba, the commercial city in Abia State.

More than ten people were killed and property lost as scores were still trapped under the heavy duty truck, read (here).

Confirming the incident government of Abia through John Okiyi Kalu, Commissioner for Trade & Investment, ordered the immediate closure of the Ahia Udele market.

According to him, the state governor also directed that all those currently doing business in the above markets/abattoirs should immediately relocate to the following locations: New Omuma Uzor Abattoir in Ukwa West and Good morning Market, Aba, for those currently in Ahia Udele, read (here)
