Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of former Anambra governor Willie Obiano, has announced that she will run for a Senate seat in the 2023 general election.
She is running for the Anambra North senatorial seat, which is currently held by former minister Stella Oduah.
The former first lady told journalists in Awka, Anambra's capital, on Wednesday that she decided to run for politics because to "pressure from my people." Obiano stated that running for office in the general election is "God's will."
"My decision to run for senator is in reaction to enormous pressure and requests from my constituents to represent them in the senate at the National Assembly in Abuja," she explained.
"As the good people of Anambra state have testified, service to people, humanity, spreading love, and placing smiles on sad faces are my goals in life, and I know it is God's plan since the Bible states God is love," he says.
"As a result, my people decided that I should come and serve them better in a higher capacity, having watched and been positively moved by my ever willing disposition to care for people, empower the poor and needy, especially women and children, notably widows, orphans, and the impoverished."
