Abia 2023 - Ikpeazu Will not be Distracted by Inanities

Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has said that he will not be distracted by nonsensical remarks going around the state about who will succeed him in 2023.

The governor said there has been a lot of activity around the issue of who succeeds Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in 2023.

The activities have ranged from the normal to the ridiculous and even to the outrightly outlandish.

In a statement on Monday evening by Onyebuchi Ememanka, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu's position on the issue of 2023 is very clear and under no circumstances would he, nor the high office he occupies, be dragged into meaningless and mundane ethnic politics.

"Governor Ikpeazu is very firm and uncompromising in his belief that at every time, God will remain God and cannot be influenced by libations nor the mere wishes of an ordinary mortal.

"As the momentum towards the 2023 elections increases, the issues that will define who the next Governor will be will remain competence, experience, pedigree and fear of God.

"The Governor urges Abians, especially the political class, to remain calm and allow the political process to continue to play its role.

"At the end of the day, God will give us a worthy successor to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu," the statement reads
