Former President Goodluck Jonathan has described the death of two of his aides in a traffic accident on Wednesday as "sad and heartbreaking."
According to Strenuousblog.com, Jonathan almost avoided death after being involved in an auto accident on his way from Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, read (Here).
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ikechukwu Eze, the former President expressed his condolences to the two police officers who died in the event, which he characterized as "sad and heartbreaking."
Two additional cops who were injured are responding to hospital care, according to Jonathan.
Inspectors Ibrahim Abazi and Yakubu Toma, he continued, were great officers who were dedicated to their duty and devotion to the country.
"Two other cops sustained injuries in the accident, which involved a car transporting the security guys," the statement reads in part.
"They were rushed to an Abuja hospital and are responding well to treatment."
Jonathan expressed his condolences to the dead families as well as the police high command.
The former President prayed to God to grant the departed's souls eternal peace and to grant their families and the nation the strength to bear the loss.
