Lady Who Raised False Kidnap, Rape Alarm In Police Custody

After tweeting about being kidnapped and raped, a woman identified as Omotoyosi has willingly presented herself at the police station.

On Thursday morning, Omotoyosi sparked outrage after a tweet she sent alleging being kidnapped and raped went viral.

She also revealed the area where her kidnappers held her against her will in a tweet, as well as their phone numbers.

After a few minutes, Omotoyosi took down the post and refuted the assertion that she was in danger.

"Earlier today, I tweeted that I had been kidnapped and raped. It is untrue. Please accept my sincere apologies. She wrote, "Please stop phoning and threatening the numbers."

She went on to upload a video to show the public that she was alright.

"I am alright," Omotoyosi remarked in the video. I wasn't kidnapped or raped in any way. I'm fine, and I'm not under any compulsion in making this video. I'm fine; I'm in my own home. Please do not call or threaten to contact those numbers. Thank you kindly."

Following her comments, there was fury on social media, with many people denouncing her actions.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, said the lady was being probed.

"The lady freely presented herself at the police station," he stated. The investigation is still ongoing. We'll keep you informed."
