The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, has resigned, on Monday following health Issues.
Sources said the Justice Muhammad resigned on Sunday night, citing ill-health as the reason for his decision.
Arrangements are reportedly being made to appoint Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the next-highest ranking justice on the Supreme Court, as interim Chief Justice of Nigeria.
There will soon be a formal statement, according to reports. Reports indicated that Justice Muhammad was gravely unwell prior to his resignation.
