Ibrahim Musa Gusau has been elected as the new president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Gusau won the seat in Friday's committee election for the federation, which was conducted in Benin. He received 21 votes, beating out his closest rival, former 1st Vice President Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, who received only 12.

Other candidates decided against participating in the potential repeat even though Gusau did not receive the necessary 22 votes to win in the first round. The previous board chairman was Amaju Melvin Pinnick.
