BREAKING: Aston Villa sack Steven Gerrard over poor result

After losing to Fulham, Aston Villa fired head coach Steven Gerrard.

After a terrible start to the season in which the Midlands club has won just two of its first 11 Premier League games, he exits the organization.

In November 2021, Gerrard, 42, resigned as manager of Scottish club Rangers to take over Aston Villa.

However, the former England and Liverpool captain has presided over just eight victories so far this year.

"We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and devotion and wish him well for the future," a Villa statement said.

Steven Gerrard's Premier League record with Aston Villa:

Games: 39

Losses: 19

Wins: 12

Draws: 8

Goals for: 45

Goals against: 53

Win percentage: 30.8%
