The State Coordinator, National Health Insurance Scheme, Akwa Ibom State, represented by Mr Ubaka Isaac, has told Corps Members that the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has been designed for the benefit of Corps Members to ensure their quality healthcare.
Dr Ubong, said this at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nsit Atai Akwa-Ibom State, while delivering a lecture on the benefits derivable from the NHIA to the 2022 Batch C Stream 2 Corps Members.
According to him, NHIA is a parastatal under the National Health Insurance Scheme, established to provide unhindered access and quality healthcare to Nigerians. He assured the Corps Members that, they are entitled to free medical healthcare for the period of the service year.
He added that this initiative came into effect in the month of March 2022, to alleviate the exorbitant medical bills incurred by Corps Members in the course of service.
He also mentioned that the objective of NHIA is to ensure that every mobilized and serving Corps member has access to quality health care.
At the end of the lecture, the Corps Members asked a number of questions, indicative of their deep understanding of the subject matter.
