Lagos govt shuts Chrisland school over student death


Again, Following the passing of a student named 12-year-old Whitney Adeniran, the Lagos State government has mandated the closure of Chrisland School in Opebi, Ikeja.

Folasade Adefisayo, Commissioner for Education, announced on Sunday that the school would remain closed pending the results of a thorough investigation.

He expressed sympathy to the deceased's family and friends and offered a prayer for the deceased's soul.

He further, called tranquility, assuring that “no effort will be spared in investigating the incident”.

Meanwhile, the father of the late Whitney Adeniran called for an investigation into her death in a statement circulated on social media.

Michael Adeniran said she neither had any health condition nor was she sick when the school bus picked her for inter-house sports activities last Thursday.
