Chelsea's poor form this season, combined with their recent elimination from the Champions League, will result in a 30% pay cut for players.

According to the Daily Mail, the club's most recent additions, or those who have committed to new contracts, would have their earnings cut by at least 30%.

Co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital established an incentive structure to player contracts connected to Champions League qualification after taking over last year.

The stipulations would cause their compensation to fluctuate based on whether or not they competed.

Recall that, Real Madrid eliminated Chelsea from this season's competition on Tuesday night.

This means that the two-time champions will not compete in Europe's top elite club championship in 2023/2024.
