Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old student at Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, has set a Guinness World Record for the most number of skips on one foot in a 30-second time span.
On January 24, Solomon accomplished an astounding 153 skips on a single foot inside the allotted 30-second time, breaking Rasel Islam's previous record of 145.
"Solomon was inspired by the previous holder of this record title Rasel Islam after seeing a video of his record attempt. He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship," GWR announced on its website.
It was formally confirmed four months after his effort, and Solomon was recognized for his incredible achievement on Tuesday.
Gbenga Ezekiel from Ijapo High School in Akure set a world record for rope skipping by achieving 265 skips in one minute. Solomon, a student from the same school, followed in his footsteps and set a world record for himself.
