During the 26th convocation ceremony held at Lagos State University (LASU) in Ojo, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made a significant announcement.
He declared a reward of N10 million for the top-performing student of the 2021/2022 academic session, Aminat Yusuf, who graduated from the Faculty of Law with a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0. The convocation took place at LASU's Buba Marwa Auditorium in Ojo.
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Miss Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh for her exceptional academic achievement, stating, "We are celebrating an extraordinary accomplishment achieved by Miss Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh, who not only emerged as the best student of the 2021/2022 academic session but also attained a perfect 5.0 CGPA."

In recognition of her brilliance, the governor personally pledged a donation of N5 million, with an additional N5 million to be provided by the state government.

In 2018, LASU was selected as one of Nigeria's 16 universities and designated as the "Africa Centre of Excellence for Innovative and Transformative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education" by the World Bank. Moreover, LASU has recently begun admitting international students to its programs.
