Presidency Denies Salary Increase for Political Office Holders

The Presidency has denied approving any salary increase for public officeholders, including President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement on Thursday by Dele Alake, the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy clarified that no proposal for a salary raise had been presented to President Tinubu.

The statement emphasized that while the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has the authority to propose salary adjustments, they require the President's approval to take effect.

The Presidency dismissed reports of a 114 percent salary increase and suggested that the narrative was designed to undermine the new administration's positive image.

The public is advised to ignore unofficial sources and rely on approved official communication channels for government updates and policy matters.
