The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele, has been re-arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) at the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
This development occurred despite the fact that the court had granted him bail in the sum of N20 million.
There was a disagreement between the DSS and officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) who were supposed to take Mr Emefiele to the Ikoyi Correctional Center where he would be held until he fulfilled his bail conditions.
Instead of allowing the NCS officials to take him, the DSS operatives took Mr Emefiele away in the same Hilux vehicle that they brought him to court in.
