EFCC arraigns Stella Oduah and others for alleged N5bn fraud

On July 21, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission brought charges against former Aviation Minister, Sen. Stella Oduah, and several others for alleged involvement in a N5 billion fraud case. 

The accused individuals include Gloria Odita, Nwosu Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chukwuma Irene Chinyere, Global Offshore, Marine Ltd, Tip Top Global Resources Ltd, Crystal Television Ltd, and Sobora International Ltd.

During the court proceedings before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Oduah and the other defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. 

Justice Ekwo then ordered the Attorney General of the Federation to take over the case and for the EFCC to transfer the case file within two weeks.

The case was adjourned until October 17, 2023, for trial. Justice Ekwo upheld the existing administrative bail conditions granted by the EFCC and requested that the terms of conditions be provided to the AGF.
