Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke, is dead

Cynthia Okereke, a well-known actress in Nollywood, has passed away. The news of her death was shared by her colleague, Joseph Okechukwu, via his verified Twitter account on Wednesday. 

Okechukwu expressed his shock and devastation at her sudden passing, noting that he had been planning to pay for her flight ticket to finish a project they had started together.

He described Okereke as an amazing, decent and lovely soul, and lamented the fact that life can be so fleeting. The actress had been in the news some time ago when she and fellow actor Clemson Cornel were kidnapped in Enugu. Fortunately, they were later released unharmed by their abductors after several days of being missing.

The passing of Cynthia Okereke is a great loss to the Nigerian film industry, and she will be greatly missed by her colleagues and fans alike. May her gentle soul rest in peace until they meet again in glory.
