Innoson Automobile Company, a Nigerian automobile manufacturer, has decided to revoke the scholarship it had awarded to Mmesoma Ejikeme.

This decision comes after the Commission of Inquiry, established by the Anambra State Government, confirmed that she manipulated her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.

The panel's report, consisting of eight pages, recommended that Mmesoma issue a written apology to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, her school, and the state government. It also advised her to undergo psychological counseling and therapy.

The Head of Corporate Communications and Affairs at Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe, stated that the company had been involved in investigating the allegations surrounding Mmesoma's UTME results.

They sought clarification from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and allowed her to present her side of the story to a committee established by the Anambra State Governor.

Osigwe emphasized that the decision to withdraw the scholarship was based on their commitment to honesty, integrity, and merit-based recognition.

While acknowledging the disappointment of Mmesoma's supporters, including her school principal, Innoson Automobile Company stated the importance of maintaining the integrity of their scholarship program and the values it represents.

They believe in rewarding exceptional students who not only excel academically but also demonstrate honesty, transparency, and respect for the educational system's processes in Nigeria.
