Moisés Caicedo unveiled as new Chelsea player on £115m record deal

Chelsea has successfully unveil and concluded the transfer of Moises Caicedo, bringing an extended summer transfer saga to a close.

The club reached an agreement with Brighton on Sunday for a potential fee of £115 million. Following this, the Ecuador international underwent his medical evaluation on Monday.

Caicedo has signed an eight-year contract with the possibility of an additional year, opting for Chelsea over Liverpool, who had also negotiated with Brighton. The initial deal amounts to £100 million, with an extra £15 million available in performance-based add-ons.

This significant signing elevates Chelsea's summer spending beyond £800 million since the club's takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in May 2022.

"I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me".

"I just knew I wanted to sign for this club, Chelsea. It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait.

"Makelele and Kante were an inspiration to me. When I was a kid, I supported Chelsea and used to watch the games. It’s amazing to be her.

"I don’t hope, I am sure we are going to win a lot of titles with this amazing club, to put #CFC where they deserve to be," Caicedo said.

The saga is officially over
