Nigeria Air to Commence Operations in October - Ethiopian Airlines CEO Reveals Details
Nigeria's new national carrier, Nigeria Air, is set to begin its flight operations in October this year, according to Ethiopian Airlines CEO, Mesfin Tasew.
The airline will start with two wide-bodied planes and six narrow-bodied aircraft, and Ethiopian Airlines will manage its operations.
The carrier has faced controversies since its initial unveiling in 2018, with a recent launch just 48 hours before the end of the former Aviation Minister's administration.
Despite the challenges, Ethiopian Airlines remains optimistic about Nigeria Air's potential, with Ethiopian Airlines owning 49%, the Nigerian government 5%, and other institutional investors holding the rest of the stake.
