In a video that quickly went viral on Wednesday morning, Senate President Godswill Akpabio made a disclosure regarding the allocation of funds to all Senators by the clerk of the National Assembly for their holiday enjoyment.
Prior to the motion for adjournment, Akpabio addressed his fellow senators, revealing that the clerk of the National Assembly had distributed money to ensure that the senators could fully enjoy their holidays.
He said, “l"In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the clerk of the national assembly."
Not long after Akpabio made this statement and after deliberating with some of his colleagues, Akpabio withdrew his statement, saying instead "prayers have been sent to mailboxes of respective senators."
"I withdraw that statement. To allow you to enjoy your holiday, the Senate President has sent prayers to your mailboxes to assist you to go on a safe journey and return."
