DSS Uncovers Plot to Stage Violent Protests to Discredit Government

The Department of State Services (DSS) has revealed its discovery of a plot involving certain elements, including politicians, to orchestrate violent protests in various regions of the country. These protests are allegedly being organized with the aim of discrediting the Federal Government and security agencies.

According to Peter Afunanya, the spokesperson for the DSS, these protests are intended to undermine the government's credibility on a range of socio-economic issues. Intelligence reports have indicated that politicians are actively recruiting student leaders, ethnic associations, youth, and dissatisfied groups to participate in these planned demonstrations.

The DSS has identified key individuals involved in organizing these protests and is closely monitoring their activities to prevent any attempts to destabilize the nation. In response to these developments, the DSS is advising Vice-Chancellors of universities and heads of tertiary institutions to discourage their students from engaging in activities that could disrupt public peace.

Parents and guardians are also urged to counsel their children and wards against participating in actions that could undermine law and order. The DSS emphasizes that while the government is committed to addressing the country's challenges, it will take legal action against individuals and groups involved in these subversive plans.
