The tribunal, led by Justice Samson Paul-Gang, unanimously dismissed the petitions from the PDP and LP candidates, Mao Ohuabunwa and Nnamdi Iro Orji, respectively, citing a lack of merit.
Ohuabunwa and Iro had sought to overturn Kalu's election, alleging irregularities. The argument that the total number of registered voters in the affected polling units exceeded the margin of victory between Kalu and the runners-up was also rejected.
The court affirmed Kalu's eligibility to contest the election, as his previous trial and conviction had been overturned by the Supreme Court.
Two other LP petitions challenging Kalu's election were also dismissed, and Kalu was declared duly elected with 30,805 votes.
