Reports reveal that at the time of the incident, four individuals, including the pastor, were gathered inside the church for prayers. As the building gave way, three of them miraculously managed to escape the wreckage. However, the pastor was not as fortunate and lost his life in the calamity.
The consequences of the church's collapse extended beyond its walls. Nearby residential buildings and electricity infrastructure bore the brunt of the collapse, suffering damage from the fallen structure.
Despite the devastating outcome, the exact cause of the incident remains shrouded in mystery. Authorities have yet to determine the underlying factors that led to the tragic collapse of the Dunamis Church building.
In response to inquiries regarding the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue State Police Command, Anene Sewuese Catherine, stated that she was unaware of the situation. Nevertheless, law enforcement officers from the C Division, North Bank, swiftly mobilized to the scene. Simultaneously, emergency response teams were en route to provide assistance and assess the aftermath of the building's collapse.
