Abia State Ministry of Education Seals Emerald School Following Tragic Incident

Abia State Ministry of Education, Umuahia, has taken decisive action by sealing Emerald Schools, situated at Crystal Park Avenue, Aba South LGA, and withdrawing their operational approval. This move follows a tragic incident involving the school that resulted in the death of a pupil.

The Commissioner for Education, Professor Uche-Eme-Uche, revealed that the school failed to meet the state's prescribed standards for private educational institutions. In response to this, the ministry has sealed the school and urged parents and guardians to promptly withdraw their children or wards from the facility.

The ministry is committed to safeguarding the welfare and safety of Abia children as its top priority and has warned against any illegal attempts to reopen the school.

In related developments, the ministry's inspection and evaluation team has initiated assessments of private schools in the state to ensure they meet accepted educational standards.
