The decision to amputate the leg was made to keep him alive, as he has undergone seven successful surgeries.
The family expressed gratitude for the support they've received and requested continued assistance from well-meaning Nigerians as Mr Ibu remains in a delicate condition. They plan to have him personally acknowledge the support when he's stable.
