Alan Fisher, an Irish restaurant owner and chef, has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon for an individual.

He cooked for an astonishing 119 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing the previous record set by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci by over 24 hours.

Fisher, who runs his restaurant in Japan, also claimed the record for the longest baking marathon for an individual, with a time of 47 hours and 21 minutes, surpassing the previous record holder, Wendy Sandner from the USA.

Fisher's incredible achievement involved being in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between his two record attempts.

This remarkable feat dethroned Hilda Baci, who held the record for five months, achieving in that time what previous record holders couldn't in two years.
